LITTLE CHALFONT TAI CHI - STARTS 8TH SEPTEMBER 08 - 12:15PM

Chris Allen Silver Medal MalympexWelcome to Little Chalfont Tai Chi, we opened in the Summer of 2008, starting on Monday 21st July. Our next course starts on Monday 8th September 2008 at 12:15pm and runs for 6 weeks. We will be teaching the Jade Mountain 8 Step Form.

The classes will be taught by experienced Instructor Christopher Allen who holds the rank of 2nd Dan Black Belt in Kickboxing, 1st Degree Black Belt in Judo and he has been studying Tai Chi for 6 years and teaching for 3 years. Chris was recently given an award for his dedication and commitment to Martial Arts from the British Governing Body BNMAA and also took Silver for his Tai Chi form at the British Championships in 2008.

Tai ChiThe style of Tai Chi taught in this class will begin with a simple 8 step form devised by Chris that lends itself well to 45 minute classes. Jade Mountain 8 Step form is based upon a Kung Fu pattern he was shown whilst training with his Master Jon Alexander of the Alexander Tai Chi Foundation.

"The Jade Mountain form - which can be seen in the video below - closely resembles a Kung Fu pattern and its applications can easily be transferred from Tai Chi into a fighting form, the postures and movements are purposely designed to be easy to understand and learn, so that the student will gain the maximum benefit from each class in the shortest of time", commented Chris, "I was recently discussing with a student at one of my new classes in Tring (See picture above), how my classes differ from other Tai Chi Instructors; it appears that many people have experienced classes whereby they cannot progress until they are inch perfect on each technique, where laughter, music and general pleasantries are not permitted. I'd like to stress that my lessons are completely different from this example, and this is why I think my classes as so popular".

"At one of my classes, students can expect some banter and good humour, (although I can't guarantee the jokes are any good), a friendly and relaxed atmosphere is, in my opinion, an excellent place within which to learn Tai Chi. After all, we are here to enjoy ourselves arn't we?"

Chris's Master, Jon Alexander who has studied, practice and taught Tai Chi for over 50 years said, "Chris has a friendly and approachable style, his patience and understanding of his forms enables students to learn fast. He maintains high standards and prides himself on his professional approach to Martial Arts tuition".
