Boxwood Ltd. - 8th & 11th April 2008

Boxwood Ltd contacted UKMA about organising an activity to support their New Employee Induction Week that was taking place at a local conference centre near Chesham. With a Kickboxing session planned for their second day at their induction, the new employees arrived fresh and left fired up for a full day ahead. Chris Allen, their Instructor who holds a 2nd Dan Blackbelt in Kickboxing and 1st degree in Tai Chi Chuan led the group through some basic punches and kicks, then finished off with some self defence techniques. For an early start, the Boxwood group certainly put their all in!

Tai Chi at 7am - What a start to the day!!Chris rejoined them on their last day for a Tai Chi session which took place on a cold, crisp sunny morning outside the Latimer Conference Centre.

Following some very late nights and hard work, the boxwood group turned up on time for their Tai Chi session and were eager to get started. Chris felt sure that one or two of the participants would start Tai Chi practice on a regular basis.

Restoring the balance with Tai Chi

Chris commented afterwards, "These people we're so friendly and positive, they relished the Kickboxing session and even after a late night on Thursday they were up for Tai Chi practice and eager to get out there and experience it for themselves, I really enjoyed working with them"!

What the client said

"Integrating exercise into our foundation training course has been under consideration for some time.  The aim being to give new recruits an active lesson in the need to maintain a work life balance, starting with the training course.  Chris Allen and the team at UK Martial arts provided us with two  very professional early morning sessions, Kick Boxing and Tai Chi , which saw the delegates arrive in the training room enthused and charged with energy having tried something new.  Chris complemented the sessions by recording a video and photographs of us all in action, which has been a great reflection and memento for the team. We are now planning to use UK Martial arts at a corporate wide event later in the year.  Many thanks for a great energy booster!"
